In the year 2014, I was very bored by what my life had become. I was working at a movie theater, eating lots of taco bell, and not flexing my creative muscles at all.
One sunny afternoon, I decided to make a fake trailer for a little film called Batman V. Superman.
Why did I decide to do this? Well, I was getting tired of not seeing any footage from the film and I decided to make my own teaser. I had a vision for what I thought the film should be and I was tired of just imagining it in my head.
6 hours later, my work was done. I don’t what came over me, but I do know that it was worth the sudden urge to create.
I was able to achieve this by selecting a random array of shots from Man of Steel, shots from Oscar worthy films and a beautiful voice over from Neil Degrasse Tyson (who was later used in the ACTUAL trailer for the film)
Now that it’s been a year since I made my fake trailer and plenty of footage from the actual film has come out. Some of it has been really amazing and some of it has been eye roll. Thankfully I still appreciate the work I did on my little trailer, warts and all.
